About this Project

The Chancel roof is dominated by a six meter high abside mosaic depicting Jesus. It was carried out by Joakim Skovgaard 1925-1927. As materials for the mosaic was used glasses from Venice and natural stone. Under the mosaic are three stained glass windows with motifs from the creation story done in 1930 by Emanuel Vigeland.

All along the sides of the choir are 78 choir chairs derived from 1370s and still used today for small church services. The chairs are richly decorated with carved images from the Old Testament. The Lund Cathedral is the Lutheran cathedral in Lund, Scania, Sweden. It is the seat of the bishop of Lund of the Church of Sweden.
