Granhults church is Sweden's oldest surviving log building located in the Diocese of Växjö. By dendrochronological analysis, dating the timber in the church for years after 1217, and the church is probably built in the 1220s. The only
reason that Granhults church is still preserved is the parishioners, who refused to tear his parish church when it was formally decommissioned 1829th 50 years later was restored to the church the right to serve as a place of worship.
